About Session
This keynote presentation explores a whole-child approach to pediatric hearing healthcare that extends beyond technology. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, and co-treatment models that support developmental, academic, social, and emotional outcomes, while centering the family’s experience throughout the hearing loss journey.
By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the importance of early intervention and timely, accurate diagnosis in supporting optimal developmental outcomes for children with hearing loss.
- Explain how interdisciplinary, whole-child care models, including co-treatment approaches, enhance support for families and address academic, social, and emotional needs beyond auditory access.
- Identify key risk factors for secondary delays in children with hearing loss and apply proactive referral strategies to ensure comprehensive, family-centered care.
