Community Connection: Young Leaders Network

Learn how the Young Leaders Network is connecting deaf and hard of hearing young adults with opportunities to lead, learn and grow.

Lea en Español

AG Bell’s Young Leaders Network (YLN) is on fire. Not literally, of course. But as AG Bell’s fastest growing community, young adults are thriving as they find connections with others just like them.

The YLN began as a way to connect young adults with hearing loss to each other as they navigate life outside of school, begin their careers, or balance the challenges of working and post-doc school. Many of these individuals are former LOFT participants, but just as many are friends of friends who told them about YLN. Last year, they held their first retreat, and it was such a huge success that one for this fall is already planned.

The YLN is self-governed by a board of individuals who help guide and shape the direction of this community. They develop regular programming, oversee events (such as the retreat), and advocate for the needs of deaf and hard of hearing young adults worldwide.

There are many ways for you to plug into the YLN! Visit our website to find out about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and meet-ups where you can connect with this terrific community of leaders who are forging their best path forward.
