This presentation seeks to elucidate the challenges and insights associated with supporting families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing across diverse cultural, social, and linguistic contexts. Furthermore, it will explore the perceptions regarding the effective integration of Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) and auditory-verbal (AV) concepts and strategies into daily life situations.
By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:
- Reflect on how to be true to the LSL and AV principles and respect the local culture.
- Describe variables that foster a collaborative culture where silos are the perceived norm.
- Differentiate other approaches from LSL and AV practice and philosophy.
