Hear her firsthand account of navigating professional and personal challenges, overcoming trials, and embracing self-advocacy and resilience to transform her life despite multiple disabilities. Experience inspiration, practical strategies, and hope for all.
By the end of this session, learners will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of addressing age-appropriate self-advocacy milestones beginning in early childhood as an important part of the journey to adulthood.
- Identify at least two strategies they can use with children to support the building of resiliency and self-determination skills as part of communication development.
- Explain how multiple disabilities can impact a child’s communication and learning, and identify ways to create supportive and accessible environments.
