Enhancing Family-Centred Practices for DHH Children

The 2024 Family Centred Early Intervention: DHH Principles (Foundation, Support, and Structure) will be reviewed in this presentation. Practical activities supporting LSLS Cert. AVT/AVEds will be discussed. Attendees will learn how these guidelines enhance practice, inform family interactions, and strengthen support for children who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH).

By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:

  • Define the updated 2024 Family Centred Early Intervention: DHH Principles, including key changes and their impact on practice.
  • Apply specific activities that support the work of LSLS Cert. AVT/AVEds in early intervention.
  • Enhance family-centered practice with strategies for strengthening interactions with families and improving the overall system of support for DHH children.
