Conversations with more experienced professionals are incredibly valuable, but they don’t take the place of input from the perspectives of parents and families. We will “listen in” on a cross-cultural discussion between professionals and parents that illustrates barriers and solutions for working with extended families, and model problem solving processes.
By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:
- Describe structured joint thinking in a group setting to move through the process of analysing a case scenario.
- Identify and articulate areas of challenge and solutions that can lead to whole family participation.
- Define clear, achievable, measurable steps towards desired outcomes.
