Cochlear Implants in Children with LUHU (Unilaterally Limited Usable Hearing)

Children with LUHU (Unilaterally Limited Usable Hearing) present particular challenges related to spatial hearing and speech perception in noise. Cases of children with LUHU who have received cochlear implants at different ages and the corresponding results will be presented.

By the end of this session, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the challenges of children with LUHU.
  • Describe aspects of therapy for children with LUHU who use cochlear implants.
  • Explain some results for children with LUHU who use cochlear implants.
