Parent Chat: The Poetry of Parenting

Date & Time:

February 13
8:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST

The Poetry of Parenting

Poetry helps me express my feelings, honoring and preserving my emotions. Indeed, poetry provides me with comfort, describing my world, creating imagery and inspiration, while guiding me in parenting. Regardless of length, poetry can enable us to express ourselves in ways that resound across cultures. Some poems resonated deeply within me, affecting how I raised my child or how I still aspire to parent my now-adult son. I will share one of my favorite Lebanese poems; I will also share one that I wrote a few decades ago which tells how me and my brother felt about the way our own parents raised us as two deaf children. Join me and let us share our respective parenting journeys.
