This month, we are shining a spotlight on one of our hardest-working and multi-faceted team members, Trenita Dickey. As our Manager of Membership and Donor Relations, Trenita is the anchor for AG Bell’s day-to-day operations. It is likely that if you’ve ever signed up for anything via AG Bell’s website, Trenita was the person responding on the other side. Read on to hear from Trenita about her work with AG Bell.

How did you first hear about AG Bell, and what inspired you to get involved?

I first learned about AG Bell through a former executive director with whom I had worked at two previous organizations. When an opportunity arose to support AG Bell during a period of change and evolution, I was excited to step in. I welcomed the chance to contribute my experience and help the organization move forward.

You’ve been with AG Bell for many years and in a variety of roles. How has your role evolved, and what aspects of your position to find the most interesting?

My role at AG Bell has evolved as the organization has grown, allowing me to take on broader responsibilities across operations, strategy, and organizational support. The most rewarding part of my role is supporting our intern program and helping shape meaningful experiences for those just starting their careers. I also enjoy finding ways to make the customer experience more efficient and effective. Above all, working alongside a dedicated staff toward a common mission is what makes my work truly fulfilling.

As you reflect on where AG Bell was when you joined to now, what has been the biggest change or made the biggest impact on the organization?

The biggest change I’ve seen at AG Bell is how much the organization has strengthened its internal structure and processes, allowing us to operate more efficiently and serve our community more effectively. We’ve embraced new technologies and systems that have significantly improved communication, collaboration, and program delivery. Overall, this growth has made a meaningful impact on how we support families and professionals every day.

Just for fun, what is something people might be surprised to learn about you?

People are often surprised to learn that I’m a strong advocate for adolescents and young adults. I volunteer in several youth-focused areas, including entrepreneurship, homelessness, education, sports activities, and mentorship. Supporting young people as they navigate these important stages of life is something I’m truly passionate about.
