Global Connections: Supporting LSL Around the World

Discover how AG Bell is building bridges across borders with two groups focused on expanding LSL worldwide.

Lea en Español

A key part of AG Bell’s mission statement is to expand its work globally. AG Bell’s global programs bring together professionals, families, and individuals around the world who are deaf or hard of hearing and use Listening and Spoken Language (LSL).

Global Professional Council (GPC)

The GPC is committed to expanding LSL for children and their families through local, member-driven initiatives. Their goal is to develop LSL professionals in their geographic region with the knowledge and skills needed to work with children who are developing LSL.

Several support documents are already available in a variety of languages, with more on the way. The GPC welcomes new members. Join the Global Professional Council to begin building LSL as an option in your country.

Global Family Council (GFC)

The GFC is also focused on global work at the local level, but with an emphasis on supporting parents of young children who are diagnosed with hearing loss. Their goal is to connect families all over the world to AG Bell and provide them with timely, emotional support and resources.

There are many resources already available in a range of languages. The GFC is actively recruiting new family members who want to create change in their countries. Join the Global Family Council to find out more.
