Mary Boucher Jones, 68, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away on November 3, 2024. Mary was born May 7, 1956 in Indianapolis to the late John and Barbara (Mason) Boucher. Mary graduated from Ladywood-St. Agnes in 1974. After high school, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Fontbonne University and a Master’s Degree from Butler University.
Mary, a certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT), dedicated her life to helping children who are deaf or hard of hearing. She was president of Listen and Learn Auditory-Verbal Communication Center in Indianapolis, specializing in pediatric auditory-verbal therapy and post-cochlear implant rehabilitation. Mary provided home-based therapy to children and their families, as well as school consultations and professional mentoring. She cared deeply for her patients, and she touched the lives of many through her unwavering dedication and compassionate work.
In addition to her auditory-verbal therapy practice, Mary was a nationally recognized expert in her field, publishing numerous articles and presenting at state and national conferences. She was a member of the Certification Committees for both Auditory-Verbal International and the AG Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language, and she was one of the authors of The Mentor’s Guide to Auditory-Verbal Competencies.
Mary was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan, following Cathedral High School football, Purdue University basketball, and the St. Louis Cardinals, among other teams. She frequently attended her patients’ sports games as well.
Mary is survived by her husband, Mark Jones; her two brothers, Chuck (Kathy) Boucher and John M. Boucher; and her two sons, Patrick (Abbie) Jones and Christopher Jones.
A visitation for Mary will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46219. Mary will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the AG Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

El jueves 7 de noviembre de 2024, de 4:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., se llevará a cabo un velorio para Mary en la funeraria Feeney Hornak Shadeland, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. Una Misa de Entierro Cristiano tendrá lugar el viernes 8 de noviembre de 2024 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica del Espíritu Santo, 7243 E. 10th St. Indianapolis, IN 46219. María será enterrada en el Cementerio del Calvario.
