Today we celebrate many achievements, but we also take this time to define new challenges and implement tasks to continue supporting children with hearing loss and their families who seek to provide a better quality of life for them.
Your support in training speech therapists interested in AVT has been invaluable. One of our new strategies is to approach students in the last years of their careers at the university in this field.
Taking advantage of the visit from Naira Delgado, LSLS from Madrid, Spain, we organized an event for the students in their last two years before becoming speech therapists from the three universities offering that opportunity in Asuncion. It was the first time that the students from the three universities were getting together for a presentation.
Naira presented to more than 300 students an Introduction to AVT that practically is only mentioned in their studies. It was very well received by the students. Our strategy is to start planting the seeds early on.

Celebración del apoyo a las familias en Paraguay
Recientemente se celebró el quinto aniversario de la creación de Fundación Florencia que presta servicios a niños y niñas con pérdida auditiva en Paraguay.
Además de celebrar sus numerosos logros, queremos también aprovechar la ocasión para definir nuevos desafíos e implementar tareas para seguir apoyando a los niños(as) con pérdida auditiva y a sus familias, que buscan la manera de facilitarles una mayor calidad de vida.
Su apoyo en la formación de logopedas interesados en la TAV ha sido extremadamente valioso. Una de nuestras nuevas estrategias es el establecimiento de contacto con estudiantes en los últimos cursos universitarios de este campo.
Aprovechando la visita de Naira Delgado, que es Especialista en Escucha y Lenguaje hablado (LSLS, por sus siglas en inglés) en Madrid (España), organizamos un evento dirigido a los estudiantes de los dos últimos cursos de Fonoaudiología de las tres universidades que ofrecen estos estudios en Asunción. Fue la primera vez en la que los estudiantes de las tres universidades se congregaban para asistir a un evento de este tipo.
Naira presentó a más de 300 estudiantes una Introducción a la TAV que prácticamente solo se menciona en sus estudios y tuvo una gran acogida por parte de los asistentes. Desde un principio nuestra estrategia ha consistido en empezar a plantar semillas.
