MOVIE THEATERS

>We have found it best to always double check with the theater before calling to verify show times of captioned movies they often change the published times.

>You can look at each individual theater listing in the paper or on the web for a (cc) next to a show time or use the following website as a guide.

Minnesota Movie Listings http://www.mnocfilms.org/index.html This site lists rear window captioning and open captioned
showings.

REAR WINDOW/CLOSED CAPTION:

This trechnology gives you a book size screen attached to an adjustable stand that fits in your cup holder and picks up the projection of captioning of a special screen in the back of the theater. If you look toward the projection booth it is the backwards red lettering on a little scrolling board. No one else can see the captioning. Remember previews are not captioned!

Equipped theaters: AMC Eden Praire, AMC Roseville, CEC Duluth, CEC Hermantown, Crown Theaters Block E

>Rear window movies are often shown the first weekend or two the movie is out because it is usually only  the biggest theater in a complex that has the system setup.

HOT TIP! At rear window theaters if you go the info desk to get the equipment they can often sell you tickets as well - so you can skip the long lines!

OPEN CAPTION
This is when captioning is on the movie screen as part of the film and everyone can see it.

Usual Theaters: Marcus Oakdale, Regal Brooklyn Center, Regal Eagan, Kerasotes Coon Rapids, Kerasotes Inver Grove Heights

>Open captioned films are often shown once a day over a weekend - so very limited times.  They are usually toward the end of the run of the movie - after it has been out a while.
